NOMINATE A LGBTQ+ HERO

JOP Arts and City Arts are looking for Nottingham LGBTQ+ Heroes as part of a new photography exhibition.

Do you know someone who embodies the spirit of Nottingham’s LGBTQ+ community? Is there an individual who has made a significant impact, offered support, or inspired change in our city? Now is your chance to celebrate them!

As part of a new, unannounced festival, JOP Arts and City Arts are shining a spotlight on the unsung heroes of our community. We’re calling on you to nominate those who have made a difference—whether it’s through activism, advocacy, creativity, or simply by being a source of strength and pride.

Selected LGBTQ+ Heroes will have their portraits taken and exhibited as part of a new exhibition at City Arts and across the city.

Be Part of a Brilliant New Festival
Nominees will be entered into a draw to have their portrait taken by a talented Nottingham-based photographer. Selected individuals will be featured in a special exhibition at City Arts during a new festival in October, making this an unforgettable tribute to their impact on our city.

Inspire Future Generations
By sharing the stories of these everyday heroes, you’ll be helping to inspire the next generation of LGBTQ+ individuals to continue the work of creating a more inclusive city.

How to Nominate

You can nominate anyone—whether it’s a friend, family member, colleague, or someone who has inspired you from afar.

To nominate someone:

  1. Identify Your Hero: Think about individuals who have made a significant impact on the LGBTQ+ community in Nottingham.
  2. Tell Us Their Story: Share why you believe they deserve to be named a Nottingham LGBTQ+ Hero. Highlight their achievements, contributions, and the positive changes they’ve inspired.
